Okay I have spent the last two hrs putting all the new pages up and the whole time I am listening to a 5 years (who is not feeling well) wanting something to do. I offered her to draw, color even read and she don't want to. What she wants is to play with MY barbies. Now wait a minute those things are collectables and NO ONE PLAYS WITH THEM. So of course she now hates her grandfather because I said no. LOL He is mean you know. Anyway she thinks so. So enjoy my pages and photos. And comment if you want. Yeah I know I have been a bad blogger lately. Sorry. I have been trying to organize my digi scrapbooking stuff so instead of making new pages I been organizing (which I am not to good at). Plus Mardi Gras, birthdays and etc. So lots of pictures to take. Which of course I did. One parade I took 400 and some pictures. Not all good but some came out great. But the news is I have started doing scrap pages again. So should have them posted soon (I hope). So be looking for some new ones soon.

Okay my wonderful husband bought me a new Nikon D90 DSLR camera. My dream camera. I have three other cameras but they are all point and shoot digitals. This is one that I am going to have to learn. I have had a lesson on what all the buttons are for and what they do but now I have to start taking lots of pictures just to learn how to use them. But I love it and will take lots of photos cause that is my favorite thing to do. This is one of the first photos I took with it just playing around. This was taken on auto and I love the action in the shot. There are a series of shots of Lillie jumping with her hair flying, and her shirt swaying. This camera can take picture after picture in just a matter of seconds. So I am hoping to learn it and gets lots of great shots.

SNOW?

There is something in the state of Louisiana you hardly ever see. SNOW! And this last December we had snow! Now maybe to lots of folks thats like so its just snow but to all of us down here in LA it is SNOW! So of course we build snowmen, have snowball fights and even wish for more. It is fun for all. Lots of times the roads are closed, the schools are closed and everyone stays home because they don't know how to drive in it, or are afraid to be stuck somewhere. But it don't matter to us because we love it. Course it don't last long and the next week will be in the 70s but we still love the SNOW! Here are three pages I made with just some of the 400 and some pictures I took.

Awwwwwww these two are the greatest. My oldest granddaughter Katie and my oldest grandson Bobby. These two are close as theives and yet they can fight and still make up and be close. She listens to all his complaints and he listens to hers. When they are going through tough times they are there for each other. I hope they remain this close their whole lives.

My granddaughters birthday last year was at the Rock Wall again. (Their dad is part owner so they get free parties...LOL) But that doesn't stop them from enjoying it. I know that everyone of my grandchildren love going there and climbing the walls. They have walls that are as high as 35 ft, a cave wall, even walls for younger children. This is Anna going up one of the higher walls. She didn't make it to the top but one day she will.

Our baby girl Chloe's first birthday. Our youngest granddaughter turned one in October and they gave her and her brother Blade a birthday party together (since they are only 1 year and 3 days apart). My oldest grandson with his face in his birthday cake. This really what they mean by Having your cake and eating it too! He always seems to get the short end of the staff when his birthday falls on Thanksgiving so this year we planned a big get together. I bought this big chocolate cake for everyone. After his mother shoved his face into it (I am glad it was big) he was eating it at the same time. After he told me that it was the best birthday ever. He always wanted his face shoved into his cake and it finally happened. He loved it. My 2nd grandson (DJ) said I got to call him crap face without getting in trouble MawMaw. LOL But Bobby loved it and there was plenty of un-faced cake for everyone.

Another photo of Bella and Lillie. I tell you these two are such characters. Take them shopping and they have to have the same outfit. No matter what anyone else says. If one of them likes it then the other also likes it. They make me laugh so hard at them and I get the biggest kick out of them. I always have to take a photo of them in their matching outfits. I wonder what they will be like when they grow up? I wonder if they will be as close as they are now? I wonder if they will still want to dress alike and be together all the time? Another Quick Page I did. Blade and his little half smile. It is so easy doing QPs. You don't really have to use a lot of brain power so when those days that creativity flys out the window just look at a bunch of QPs and you will have a lo in no time. I do love this photo of Blade his mom took. It does bring so many emotions to the surface when you look at it. Oh the love for a baby.

This picture was taken of my dear husband back in 1968 when he was getting ready to graduate boot camp. And not to long before he went to Viet Nam. Now for something a little different. How about alligators. My son and I took these pictures across the street from my house in the bayou. Yes a real alligator, a small one to be sure but it can still try to eat you. The people across the bayou fed it so it wouldn't leave. But it was fun to see it and capture it on film. Lilly is truly a Barbie girl. She eats, sleeps, dreams Barbie. The only thing she likes more than Barbie is Ariel the Little Mermaid. Get her a Ariel Barbie and she is in heaven. Even if she has had it before. She loves this big Barbie because it can wear her clothes. Only problem is she can't get it to stand up without some help. And oh yeah the leg broke on it and pawpaw hasn't fixed it yet. She is so funny. She even put her own panties and pajama bottoms on this doll for these pictures.

But this day I took it out to entertain while we were waiting on the doctor. As you see she gave me her best modeling pose. I did this page not because of the picture but I was trying a new technique. I made the edges of the mat and photo look like I inked them. Amanda posing for grandma. I get the camera out and the posing starts. I am so lucky to not only have all these grandbabies but also that they love getting their photos taken. I have my own models for any pose. If I want them to look away from the camera they do. If I want them in profile I get profile. Heck it is nothing for them to see me on the ground or on a chair or ladder trying for the perfect photo. Of course I think all of them are perfect photos. Now I just have to start scanning the bd (before digital) photos so I have lots more to create scrapbook pages for. And talk about photos I have enough to fill at least 50 books. If I scrap them all. LOL

Grandson number 2 again. He was so little. With a bad hair cute. But we still loved him. I don't think he was to happy with grandma taking his picture this day. But he let me anyway. He is a little shy every now and then but to tell you the truth I believe it is put on. In this family it does no good to be shy. We are a fun, loud family and love getting together. My number 2 grandson. Isn't he such a little man in these pictures. He is still as cute just a lot more grown up. He looks like his grandfather an awful lot. He loves his grandma with all his heart. He is the third of the Dons in this family and we are all so proud of him.

Abby was only 2 here. She was so cute and tiny. She is a beauty now but she was the sweetest little girl. And boy is she smart. She loves so hard. She is a good kid and would do just about anything for you except clean her room. Oh well you can't have it all.

Here is Bobby again in his football gear. He loves the game but isn't the best runner around. But once he found out that he was suppose to stop the other team from making a score he became very aggressive. Once he grabbed hold of the other team member he didn't let go until he either had them down or they crossed the goal line with him still attached to their body. This boy started playing football at a young age and he loves it. But then he also has played soccer and baseball. He wants to try basketball and karate too. So who is to say what he will do in the field of sports. Probably nothing because he wants to be a doctor or a game creater. Go figure.

I have a series of black and white photos I took back in 2003 with my SLR camera (before I got my new digital) and so I did a few pages of them. This is one of our Ladybug Princess Anna. I do believe this child could be a vet when she grows up. She loves any and all animals. For a little girl that is something. It doesn't matter if it is a dog, cat, snake, lizard or bug she is interested in it. Wonder if she will out grow it?

This is my son-in-law. He is as good to me as if he was my own son. He has been married to our daughter for 18 years and put up with a lot of her craziness but he still loves her. We love him as if he was our own. Oh yeah he is also the father to three of my grandchildren so that makes him pretty special.

Komodo Dragon

We took the seven oldest grandchildren to the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans for Easter 2003. They had so much fun playing on Monkey Hill, climbing the big tree and sitting on the Komodo Dragon statue. It was a great photo op and couldn't pass it up. Oh yeah they loved the animals too.

Seven of my grandchildren sitting at the Mississippi rest stop at the state line. We were on our way back from a trip to Missouri for a family reunion. Katrina Christmas

This picture was taken the first Christmas after Katrina. We were living in RVs and there was no room for a Christmas tree. We had a compound between our two trailers so we set up a real Christmas tree in the compound. The kids thought it was really cool and they even got presents under it. The people on the Amtrak trains enjoyed the site too. This is Anna as always hamming it up for the camera.

This picture was taken in 1996 when my first grandson was born. This is my youngest daughter and she had such a hard time having him. He was so big. We almost lost both of them during the labor and delivery. He is my oldest grandson and my Boo.
